Ma l’amor mio non muore / Épilogue is the natural continuation of the Trilogie de la Mémoire, in which Alessandro Bernardeschi and Mauro Paccagnella look back on twenty years of artistic, cultural and personal partnership. Excitement, energy and life permeate every scene. The title is a play on that of an homonymous film from 1913, starring the masterful dancer and silent film diva Lyda Borrelli, and the name of a famous rest home for artists. The audience is engaged in a sensory experience that explores the theme of memory through movement and audiovisual elements. The figures on stage explore unstable balances, apparent falls and gestures of mutual support. Thus, the playful dimension intertwines with moments of great poetry. The performance is enriched by the presence of the Italian dancer and choreographer Carlotta Sagna. To paraphrase the French poet Anna Ayanoglou: ‘They reveal to the audience a dynamic mosaic, in which each episode tells a small world of its own, rich in gestures, objects and bodies that interact with each other and with the stage space, with a rhythm that alternates between lightness and tension. Moments of dislocation, comedy and joy coexist with reflections on our presence in the world and the passing of time. Time passes and bodies age. Everything coexists: gravity, joy, affection and vulnerability.”

Wooshing Machine founded by Alessandro Bernardeschi and Mauro Paccagnella, has received numerous awards and honours for the quality and innovation of its choreographic and dramaturgical work. Among its most significant works is Trilogie de la Mémoire, of which Happy Hour (2015) received awards for choreographic innovation at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, including the Total Theatre Awards and the LuminUs Award for Theatrical Moment; El Pueblo Unido Jamás Será Vencido (2018) received special mentions for visual dramaturgy and theatrical poetry and was selected for major festivals in Italy and across Europe; Closing Party (arrivederci e grazie) (2020–21) has received international acclaim for its originality, artistic maturity and poetic depth, touring in Belgium, France, Italy, the United Kingdom and Tunisia. The collaboration with the dancer and choreographer Carlotta Sagna, an internationally acclaimed performer, has further enriched the company: Sagna has worked with Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker (Rosas) and Jan Lauwers (Needcompany), has presented works at major European festivals such as the Festival d’Automne in Madrid and Torinodanza, and, together with her sister Caterina, founded her own company supported by leading theatre institutions and festivals, thereby consolidating her international reputation in contemporary dance.

Video by Stéphane Broc. Through video sequences, montages and short films (for example, for the series *The Magnificent 4* and other ‘short cuts’), Broc creates visual material that engages with choreography and performance practice, contributing to the company’s transdisciplinary approach. In this work, the cinematic vision becomes an active part of the stage experience, not merely an external medium, but a factor that expands the spaces of perception and narration within the contemporary dance presented by Wooshing Machine.
