Selected for Redescena 2024 and MASDANZA 2024, co-produced by the Canal Choreographic Center, Mascherin’s choreography enters into symbiosis with the live electronic music of sound artist Alejandro Da Rocha and fascinatingly explores the vulnerability of the body and the inevitability of falling.

Once upon a time, a society declared the gods dead and allowed some women to seize ancient symbols. The result was an independent, positronic code based on laughter, complicity, and a unique language. TRÏADE arises from this need to gather, create bonds, and dance through care and listening, in a feminine space that fosters a personal genealogy, a symbolic order that is independent.

A dance performance piece that explores the trajectory of two bodies in constant relation. The work aims to deconstruct the traditional format of theater and dance, playing with audience expectations and posing a fundamental question: what is truly necessary to create a performance?

Forget Me Not explores the theme of memory and the duality of human consciousness, drawing inspiration from Leyland Kirby’s work (The Caretaker). The performance investigates how time and oblivion shape individual identity. An intimate and reflective atmosphere, a minimalist visual palette, and an evocative soundtrack are the key elements of this piece.

A new solo creation, choreographed and performed by Omar Rajeh, that takes us into his autobiographical and choreographic universe. In this piece, the performance explores the moment of sharing past experiences and rebelling against the freezing of time.

AeReA is the first part of a diptych that revolves around an object long employed to signal both belonging and separation, marking the boundary between a hypothetical “us” and “them”: the flag. In constant proximity, as though part of a single anatomy, humans and flags emerge from dense darkness, leaving only them the possibility to manifest as images.

A love story between a right skate and a left skate. The German artist Moritz Ostruschnjak has managed to turn this concept into a captivating tale of a blossoming love that, before it can be fulfilled, shatters in a separation filled with pain and torment. In this piece, two solos merge, clash, chase each other, become a duet, and then unravel.

A gestural universe unfolds in a wandering and widespread journey, guided by two bodies engaged in the creation of an invisible and mimetic dance, becoming a crossroads between the folds, contours, and natural and artificial elements of the landscape. Between distant and near views, bodily proximity and panoramic distance, lines, vanishing points, and counterpoints, COSMORAMA immerses the audience in an experience of dance in nature, overturning the hierarchy of the gaze and guiding the spectator in a collective ascent that rediscovers living, observing, building, and dancing together with the landscape.

The need for belonging and roots is a primal instinct, driving us to seek a place that defines us, where we feel in harmony, where our body and mind find their natural balance. The search for a place to call “home” is always connected to our environment but also to the people we bond with.
