The need for belonging and roots is a primal instinct, driving us to seek a place that defines us, where we feel in harmony, where our body and mind find their natural balance. The search for a place to call “home” is always connected to our environment but also to the people we bond with. This connection to places is not only rational but also deeply social and emotional. With a choreographic style free from rigid technical references, where movement arises from the dialogue between improvisation and structured choreography, Collettivo Kyklos explores the depth of belonging and the essence of connection itself.

FRANCESCA MASSAIOLI is a 27-year-old multidisciplinary performer and cultural project manager. With a diverse background, she graduated in Agricultural Sciences and Technologies while simultaneously developing her artistic path in dance and body language. She currently facilitates community processes through movement and Performing Arts, using dance as a transformative tool in socio-cultural contexts.

HOPE TREES is an emotional and profound journey that tells the story of a group of explorers without horizons: people with and without disabilities, forced to survive on a plastic island scattered in the middle of the sea. As humanity struggles for survival, the island – which symbolises the degradation and neglect of our ecosystem – becomes a place where the hopes and forces of nature intertwine. In the course of their adventure, the protagonists meet a mysterious turtle, a symbol of wisdom and endurance, who guides them to the knowledge of the world of plants and the earth’s underworld. Through their bond with the turtle and a new understanding of the natural world, the castaways rediscover their connection to the Earth and its delicate balance. The world of plants teaches them that only through care and respect can we hope to save ourselves and our planet. Hope Trees is a show that fuses ecological reflection, inclusion and sensitivity, offering a poetic and fascinating vision of our relationship with nature and diversity, while exploring the power of hope and solidarity in overcoming the greatest difficulties.

The performance is preceded by a free workshop organised by Monia Mattioli in which some exercises that were preparatory to the realisation of the performance will be presented. The activity is aimed at orienting the audience towards a better understanding of the issues involved in the performance as well as demonstrating how the company works with dance and theatre professionals with and without disabilities.
Comfortable dress code required open to all interested with and without disabilities.

A gestural universe unfolds in a wandering and widespread journey, guided by two bodies engaged in the creation of an invisible and mimetic dance, becoming a crossroads between the folds, contours, and natural and artificial elements of the landscape. Between distant and near views, bodily proximity and panoramic distance, lines, vanishing points, and counterpoints, COSMORAMA immerses the audience in an experience of dance in nature, overturning the hierarchy of the gaze and guiding the spectator in a collective ascent that rediscovers living, observing, building, and dancing together with the landscape.
The choreography is also structured in stages. It begins with an expansive field, dozens of meters away from the two artists, dressed in beige pants and sleeveless tops, blending harmoniously with the natural surroundings. The vocabulary is created through slow movements, large gestures that alternate singularity with brief unisons, in a declared dialogue that is never shouted. Everything unfolds naturally: the two artists move closer, sharing some of their weight, and those who choose to enter take on an invisible music. Meanwhile, the passage of a dove in the sky serves as a reminder of the transience of this ceremony.

NICOLA GALLI. Choreographer, dancer, light and costume designer focused on corporeal research. His work spans actions and devices ranging from choreography and performance to installation and graphic-visual design. His artistic practice embraces a cross-disciplinary scenic horizon, where the body becomes the central element of an artistic discourse rooted in a scenic sensibility aimed at exploring movement as a hybrid panorama of knowledge. Since 2010, he has developed a choreographic investigation centered on the deep relationship between man and nature, and the analysis of the concepts of “stratification” and “landscape.” In parallel with his artistic research, he conducts educational programs for children, adults, and young dancers in training. Since 2014, he has been supported by the production organization TIR Danza. In 2018, he won the “Premio Equilibrio” from the Fondazione Musica per Roma and the “Danza & Danza” award as Best Emerging Choreographer. In 2019, he received the national “Sfera d’Oro per la danza” award, and in 2021, the “Radicondoli per il teatro” award for innovation and the use of new technologies in theater with his performance. His creations have been presented in Egypt, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, the Netherlands, Peru, Switzerland, and streamed live in South Korea. He has also collaborated with major international institutions such as the MUSE Museum (Trento), Scuola Normale Superiore (Pisa), Perugia Musica Classica Foundation (Perugia), Institute of the Arts (Seoul), and IUAV University (Venice).

Three days of workshops dedicated to both professionals and non-professionals in the performing arts world, where glorious failures and artificial surprises can be explored. Participants will deepen their skills in contact improvisation and contemporary acrobatic dance with the renowned Spanish company Losinformalls, founded by Luis García and Pere Joseph. Their approach includes a variety of languages, ranging from the pure physicality of dance to improvisation, acrobatics, music, singing, and theatre. The duo’s physical, daring, and joyful approach allows participants to enjoy the process, take risks, and dive into the unknown to discover how to emerge from it. Through impactful exercises, movement is freed, barriers are broken, and new bodily possibilities are uncovered.

LOSINFORMALLS.It is an artistic duo born from the friendship between Luis and Pere, driven by the desire to experiment with dance, theatre, and social provocation. Active since 2019, they have created performances such as Entrañas con Patatas, Aperitivo, ESO, and PERDÓN, in addition to the participatory performance Informal Stage, which has earned them enormous success at various festivals. They have performed at international festivals and theatres and gained fame with Agitaciones, a rebellious project capable of shaking any audience. They also offer workshops like Saca tu monstruo y dale una paliza, promoting accessible, spontaneous, and unconventional art that challenges the status quo and political correctness.

I offer myself to you nasce dalla volontà di incontrare nella distanza, il pensiero, le parole e le immagini di altre menti, altri corpi. Si articola intorno ad una riflessione sul corpo, sulla postura dell’attesa quando è immerso nella sua solitudine, e sul desiderio di lasciarsi attraversare ed orientare da altre voci. Per questa occasione il mio invito si rivolge a tre artistə per cui nutro profonda stima: Cristina Donà, Elena Giannotti e Alessandro Sciarroni. A loro chiedo di raccogliere immagini, suoni, istruzioni e tracce, da indirizzare al mio corpo. A loro chiedo di immaginarmi nel colmare una provvisoria solitudine con il loro pensiero, rivolto ad una mia possibile danza.

For the Salone del Libro Off, Marvi Dal Pozzo reads a selection of her most intense and reflective poems, exploring the deepest emotions and nuances of the human condition. Her words will be accompanied
by a performance by Francesca Massaioli, who, with her young, innovative art and multidisciplinary approach, will give life and form to Dal Pozzo’s verses, creating a unique atmosphere of words in motion.

In addition to fiction, she has contributed to magazines and newspapers, addressing cultural and social topics. Her writing is appreciated for its delicacy and emotional depth.

A participatory workshop in the heart of Barriera di Milano for all individuals who identify as women. A journey through mindful movement and body expression to explore freedom, feeling as a driving force for action, and the fight against gender violence. An intense and collective experience culminating in a rehearsal on May 30th and a final public presentation on May 31st, to communicate the voice of the body through gesture and collective resistance.

WORKSHOP FATTI VIVA / FORM

STEFANIA TANSINI. Dancer and choreographer, she graduated from the Paolo Grassi Academy. She has worked with Romeo Castellucci, Cindy Van Acker, Simona Bertozzi, Luca Veggetti, Enzo Cosimi, Ariella Vidach, and Motus. She has embarked on a research journey on the body, which she continues through choreographic and performative projects. She won the UBU Award in 2022 in the category “Best Performer Under 35” and is an associate artist at the Teatro Grande Foundation in Brescia. Stefania Tansini’s works have been presented in numerous festivals, including the Romaeuropa Festival, FOG Festival in Milan, Sant’Arcangelo Festival, Gender Bender Festival in Bologna, La Democrazia del Corpo Festival in Florence, and Interplay Festival. Stefania was the winner of the 2023 Bando Air for L’ombelico dei limbi, the 2022 UBU Award for Best Actress/Performer Under 35, and the 2021 Network and Criticism Award for La grazia del terribile, to name a few.
