CUANDO SOMOS. Less physical yet more poetic is the research of CARLA CERVANTES CARO and SANDRA EGIDO IBAÑEZ, which by dealing with issues of gender identity, stands out to fight discrimination and stereotypes. The duo presenting at the festival is a hypnotic work, in which the two bodies through fluid movements bring out the duality between plasticity and strength. Cuando Somos is an active and coexisting translation of what we are and what we can be when we can consciously inhabit it. The intention of the piece is to get as close as possible to the spectator by conveying an intimate message in the here and now of the present.

CARLA CERVANTES CARO & SANDRA EGIDO IBAÑEZ. Dancers, choreographers and creators of visual content in relation to photography, video and dance. Self-taught and ambitious. Passionate about design, fashion and architecture. Renowned for their ability to propose new perspectives through their creations.
The fusion of dance, design and fashion is the foundation of each of their artistic proposals. They have been working together since 2013 and the character of their style today is on the edge between contemporary and break dance. A leitmotif in their work is the erasure of gender roles and stereotypes.
They have both been teachers, choreographers and judges on the Spanish TV show ‘Fama A Bailar’. Their project ‘lookathingsdifferent’ strives to break barriers in the dance world.
