International Encounters of Emergent Dance \ Dance Roads
curated by Interplay Festival/Natalia Casorati‚ within the project Inside/Off
Performances of dance by emergent choreographers selected by the partners of the International Network Dance Roads will be presented each evening.
The Association Mosaico Danza with Natalia Casorati’s Interplay Festival has been accepted this year as the fifth and only Italian partner in the project “Dance Roads”‚ created in 1989 under the intiative of Le Gymnase CDC to promote the work of young choreographers and for international cultural exchanges linked to original dance.
One of the objectives of the network is to facilitate the circulation of the shows produced by young performers‚ selected by the organizers of important events and contemporary dance festivals. Each member country of the network‚ after having chosen the choreographer it wishes to present‚ organizes‚ together with the other partners‚ a tour with engagements hosted in the structures of every country that is a member of the network. It is an absolutely unique occasion to promote the circuiting of young choreographers and to confer visibility to their productions.
During the tour‚ encounters are organized with the companies and the audiences‚ professionals in the sector‚ journalists and the organizational directors from the vaious countries‚ as well as workshops and debates on diverse approaches to the cultural politics.
The space that hosts the productions is the Sala of Espace Theatre‚ whereas the encounters with the professionals and the formative workshops will take place at the performance space of the Association MosaicoDanza.
The Italian choreographer chosen for the project Dance Roads is the Turinese Eleonora Ariolfo‚ who with the show “Parole Mute” (Mute Words) will go on tour abroad for approximately one month.
