Interplay 07 International Festival‚ in its seventh year‚ at the 8 Gallery shopping mall‚ the “dances” were opened on May 12th with the customary and widely−appreciated‚ admission−free Metropolitan Blitzes‚ which took place in unusual urban spaces around the city‚ such as on the streets‚ in squares and store display windows. On the following days‚ the festival events were moved into theatre such as the Fonderie Teatrali Limone in Moncalieri (May 14−15−16‚ 22−23) to host renown choreographers of the international scene (from Spain‚ Holland‚ Israel and Turkey) and the national scene (Abbondanza/Bertoni‚ MK‚ Roberto Castello)‚ as well as new emergent groups‚ formations and shows acclaimed by the critics and representative of the new panorama of independent dance. In the final days of the festival‚ it returned to the city squares (the San Salvario area on May 26th ) to conclude with performance events on May 27th at the headquarters of the Mosaico Association‚ which organized the entire initiative coordinated by its artistic director‚ Natalia Casorati.

In keeping with its aim of maximum open−mindedness and planning‚ this year INTERPLAY festival joined a network of artistic sharing‚ created together with important Italian festivals (Ammutinamenti in Ravenna‚ Armunia in Castiglioncello‚ Danae in Milan‚ Danza Urbana in Bologna‚ Enzimi in Rome‚ Fabbrica Europa in Florence‚ Opera Estate in Bassano del Grappa‚ Santarcangelo dei Teatri in Santarcangelo of Romagna) and with international organizations‚ such as the Les Repérages festival in Lille‚ France. The purpose of the network‚ created after years of confirmed experience‚ is to support the festivals’ artistic choices‚ create possibilities for meeting and professional exchanges and of broadening the works’ visibility on an international scale.
