The bee is a social insect‚ and the queen bee is the mother of the whole family of bees. The males of the hive‚ the drones‚ have the single assignment of coupling during the nuptial flight‚ the dance of the queen bee.
Starting from the metaphor of the hive as a family system‚ two newlyweds go through the space and time of their wedding night‚ and it’s within this ritual that they are granted their mutual roles of husband and wife.

blucinQue was created in 2006‚ stemming from the encounter between Marta Pastorino‚ Caterina Mochi Sismondi‚ Elena Cavallo‚ Carlotta Pedrazzoli and Fabiana Ricca. The company made its debut with the staging of “Sfido io! Storia di una bambina maleducata che sfida i grandi per trovare il suo posto nel mondo” (I dare you: Story of a rude girl who challenges adults so as to find her own place in the world) a show for children from a tale by Antonio Rubino. “Sfido io!” was selected at the National Children’s Theatre Festival “L’Isola che non c’è” (Never-land) at Irgoli (Sardinia)‚ 2007 edition.
Now the company is currently presenting “ApeRegina” (Queen Bee)‚ a tragicomic performance that premiered as a study at the Approdi Festival‚ organized by the association – and which was presented at Villa 5, Womens’ House of Art (Casa dell’Arte) in Collegno‚ in the RIgenerazione series organized by the Turin Theatre System in November 2008‚ where it was among the selected winners‚ and then performed as part of Marginalia series at Teatro Espace on April 27th‚ 2009.
