SOPRA DI ME IL DILUVIO

Teatro Astra Via Rosolino Pilo, 6 Torino

A lean, bony dance writing, an empty perceptual field in which you live in an unreal, visionary state. Score of gestures, movements, apparently simple but which bring back to the complexity of the work on the ‘presence’, on the performative act, on the perception of the nervous system at the expense of the muscular one. Amplify in choreographic writing natural phenomena that we tend to take for granted and make them visually as fields that border on a secular spirituality, a metaphysics of the body, a meditation pilgrimage. After the creation of Welcome to my world, dedicated to the idea of the end of the world, the occurrence of a new Apocalypse, I again take inspiration from the painful relationship of Man with Nature in contemporary society. Rethinking the work as a place of magic and loss of certainties. Giving space to an art of choreography that contains a rigorous, experimental technical component, through which to direct a reflection on the world in which we live. Once the paradigm of postmodernity is exhausted, the appearance of a New Man is assumed, facing an archaic, tribal landscape of which the African continent is the emblem. A screamed, violated Africa which, despite the endless massacres to which it has always been subjected, manages to give us back a vision of hope“. Enzo Cosimi
